Ready for a crafty laugh?

Hi there!
Happy Saturday!

Have you set your telly to record tomorrow morning’s show?
9am-11am Create & Craft.
FreeSat 813 / Virgin 748 / Freeview 36 / Sky 674

Finally, the day has arrived
for the unveiling of our new Parchment Product.
I do so hope you like it as much as everybody who has seen it!
I think it’s really groovy!!

Anyway,
there are some fabulous stamps on the show, too,
and just in case we don’t have time to showcase them,
here’s a little sneak peek,
and a new technique!
I’m a poet, and I don’t know it!

Let’s start with a square canvas board,
and brayer a coat of Fresco Chalk Paint over the whole thing.

Next, add Glass Blue to the sky end.

Dry with a Heat gun and add two or even three layers
to increase vibrance and depth.

Add some South Pacific from below,
leaving a little light gap in the middle.

Now find a large piece of paper
or an old sheet,
and load one of our Clarity Brushes with the Chalk colour.

The trick is to flick.
Watch how much lands with each flick and WHERE it lands.

Cover up the sky area and flick
Tango and Cherry Red into place,
to create the feeling of flowers.

Like so:

Looks pretty arty, eh!

Punch out a white moon,
and add the Cockerel and Hen.
It’s best to add double-sided adhesive to the back of the card
BEFORE you cut them out.

How were they coloured in?
Dee used Copic Pens, alcohol pens.
But I don’t have these,
and the Promarkers I do have weren’t the same colour.

So I did it differently, but basically arrived at the same place!
Tune in tomorrow, and I’ll show you a quick and easy way to crack it - if you’ll pardon the expression!

But now I want to have some fun.
Ready to join in?

It’s LIMERICK TIME !!!!

There once was a chick from Leicester
who met a huge cock from Chester.....

now you finish it.
Use your imagination.
Don’t chicken out! Give it a crack!

Write out the whole limerick below, with the first two lines.
If you prefer, you can always call him a cockerel...

On Monday, we will cluck a winner,
who will be sent a £30 Clarity Gift Voucher

Cocka-doodle-doo!

Thank you for sharing how you did this canvas! I'm banned from flicking paint in the dining room where I craft. I will have to wait for a lovely day and do it outside!

  13. Hi Barbara. happy Saturday to you too. This new parchment launch must really be something special for you to not even give us a sneaky peek, or clue as to what it is! ;-) Love your finished canvas, very arty and lovely warm rich colours. Thank you for sharing, I will try this flicking technique. Not so sure my flicked paint will only be landing in that small contained space though!!! Well I was up for a crafty laugh, but now on seeing what it is – oh no limerick time again, well that rules me out. But on reading what the first two lines are, spectating may be very enjoyable!!!! And I’ll just have to content myself with trying to pluck (pun intended!!!) up the courage to email you my picture from nowt, now that’s very scary indeed! I think if any of us Scots were to try sitting in the garden we would need plenty of woollies on and a ship's anchor to stop us blowing away!!! But I've got the solution to your sleeveless arms problem - come live in Scotland, the weather will rarely grace you with an opportunity to go sleeveless!!!! ;-) Hope I goes really well for you tomorrow, I'll be recording and watching as much live as I can. Love Brenda xx
