More Fun and Games !

Hi there!
Thanks again for popping in.

Very late!
Our guests have only just left.

Paul and Jim from Clarity came over this afternoon with their respective partners, and after a buffet of turkey, ham and good old German potato salad, we settled down to a games session....

Here we see Paul and Earle, partners in crime,

and Jim and Claire, trying to crack the mystery.

Our Jayne from Clarity kindly gifted us the game for Christmas, and we actually took it quite seriously!!

Dave was playing taxi to Grace, so wasn’t playing with us.
He seemed more than happy to run the girl into Tunbridge Wells to see her friend. One could almost have imagined that he didn’t want to dress up like a dick and name that murderer!

Jim called it too soon and got it wrong;
these two gave it their best shot and were getting there -

but it was Inspector Gray who cracked the crime.
Oh yes she did. I do like a good murder mystery, don’t you?

When I retire, I am going to write a murder mystery.
I have a loose story in my head already.
I reckon it would make a cracking good read...
I have even made notes, so that I don’t forget.

PS. It’s set in Germany, Bavaria.
But the book is like a maze. You, the reader, decide the outcome by making choices at certain points...

More will be revealed!
Love & Hugs,
Barb

  2. Hi Barb,
It certainly looks as though you were all having a good time. The photos are really good - I love the look on Paul’s face! I wouldn’t have recognised you - I think you definitely take after your Dad!! Looking forward to the book ( one day) . Sending love and hugs, Alison xxx

    1. Hi bloggy friends,
Well this is way past my bedtime! Had a couple of inches of snow here today, so didn’t dare go out - you know what I’m like!! Ended up ironing (ugh!) and then tried my hand at one of the samplers in Linda’s book. Tried the 4 needle tool one , not too bad although I think I like working on a grid better as the lines never seemed straight - still not bad for a first attempt! Sending you all love and hugs, Alison xxx

  3. Fun! Fun! Fun! Love the masks. Regarding your book, you must design your own book cover, too; we have a few interesting ones.
A few book ideas myself fomenting about but perhaps of a different genre involving a number of odd but real life experiences. Living at the edge of primary jungle throws up memories of lots of possible scenarios and illustrations. X

    1. Hello Shelagh

If your book turns out anything like the Gervais Phinn books it will be a hoot.

  4. I am tucked up cosily in bed, having dried off a soggy dog - it is hammering down here again. Must be thankful for the lack of snow and ice today. Skating along icy pavements yesterday, dressed as Professor McGonagall, is not an activity to be recommended. Shocked a few car drivers though. I am looking forward to this murder mystery book. I love a good read, and I am sure yours will be very intriguing and keep us busy for hours. They say there is at least one book inside each of us. I have yet to find mine, but I reckon there are at least half a dozen to come from you, Barbara. Off now to read myself to sleep. Night night. xxx Maggie

  5. Looks like a great evening! Your book sounds like a good one, will we have to decided whether it’s a one or two needle bold as the weapon LOL !

This time last night my niece was in labour and at 1.30 a.m. on 29 Dec our great-nephew put in his appearance, 7lb 2oz and another quick labour like his sister Emily. We now have Ellis Alan Paul as a new addition to our family. I’m currently pricking around his birth card ! Xx

  7. Looks like a great game, I got a new Harry Potter Cluedo game for Christmas, no dressing up in that one though! I used to enjoy reading those adventure type books where you choose an outcome and then it sent you to a certain page...apart from when the decision resulted in you being killed!

  8. Looks like you were all having fun. Have never been to a Murder Mystery night, maybe one day. Don't think I would be much good at it anyway. Absolutely rubbish at Cluedo ha ha. You all look good in your masks, wouldn't have recognised you. Thanks for putting a smile on our faces, xxx

My children read books similar to that when they were young. They were brilliant. A different story every time you opened the book.
