Bristol! Look out! We're here!

Hi there,
Can't stop. Must dash. Out for supper in Bristol with the team.
And what a team again! We had just over 3 hours to unload and set up - and with the help of a few good women, we did it!

Bit of a scramble, but we got there.

Already lots of interest around our Groovi designs from the traditional parchers. Here’s hoping the Pergamano tutors sign up for the new club we have created for them!

All set for a great day.
Looking forward to meeting loads of Groovi parchers !
So much has happened in a year, since we were last here.
Unbelievable really.

Got to go.
Supper's on us!

Love and hugs
Barb

  5. Just got to bed to grab o get some sleep before getting up at pig-squealing hours to get down to Bristol. Not sure how much sleep I am going to get though as the smoke alarm is now doing its regular bleep, needing a new battery, which needs an engineer to replace. Looking forward to meeting old friends and making new ones tomorrow. Sleep well. xxx Maggie

    1. Well, last night was a waste of time. I managed 3 hours, plus catnaps. Been wide awake since 4 o'clock. Up now, trying to keep the dogs quiet and calm. xxx Maggie

    2. Well we better keep each other awake then Maggie. Strange bed for me so I did not sleep well which is unusual for me. See you in a bit. Drive carefully. X

  10. Hi Barbara, looking good. I've got everything crossed that finally the trad parchers stop giving you grief, and instead embrace your Groovi system alongside their traditional parchment craft.

Hope you manage some sleep, and have a great show tomorrow. Love Brenda xx

I'm sorry, can I just share this, it's got me in a right mess. Don't know if you saw the news story about giving autistic kids Electroconvulsive Therapy, supposedly to stop them self harming, control their behaviour. Supposedly resets our brains, never heard anything more ridiculous. It's barbaric, it's cruel, it's so wrong. And it doesn't work, only reduces the unwanted behaviours for a few days, until the brain starts to recover. So they give them it every week/10 days. There but for the grace of God go I. I often think how lucky I am, try not to go there as to how worse my life would have been if I hadn't been blessed with my gift of insight, and hadn't found my voice - I had selective mutism as a child. This barbaric torture has opened it all up inside me, and I'm feeling so many bad feelings and hurt for what I've been put through by society, and what my fellow autistic victims have to go through, especially those who are unable to communicate. What's wrong with working out what triggers us to self harm, shout out or whatever. Yes I do it too, although not since all the bad people and bad noises got out my life, which I think speaks volumes... We do it because certain things cause horrendous overwhelming feelings inside that we have no control over, and it gets externalised by us self harming, shouting out, or similar. Remove the problem and we settle down. For those who can't communicate do an elimination type thing, like folk do to work out what food they are allergic to. At least try it first...

  13. Hello Barbara
It's all looking very good and it must be great to meet up with all those talented ladies again. What a difference a year makes, last year you walked through those doors with shaking knees expecting to be shouted out the building but here you are a year later part of this huge community. Well done to you and the team, hope you have a fun filled day with lots of friends and a good laugh too.
    Love Diane xxx

    1. Hi bloggy friends,
Hope you all have a good day today. Gilly - Hope Neill isn't too nervous about tomorrow, it will be fine and I'll be thinking about you both whilst I'm eating my non fattening birthday cake!!! Love and hugs to you all, Alison xxx

    2. Ah thanks Alison! You have a great birthday - non fattening birthday cake? We need the recipe for that! Neill doesn't seem to be nervous at all - he just wants to get it all done and (hopefully) be out of pain! Obviously lots of initial pain and physio - but that is so worthwhile. Love and hugs, Gilly xxx

    3. I was joking about the non fattening bit!! The physio is definitely worth it, my knee replacement was superb and although I had pain I really pushed mysel - end result discharged from physio 2 weeks early, brilliant bend and pain free. Just a shame I've completely messed it up now and have to go through it all again!!! Xxxxx
